Young scientist makes the cut.

From the website I visited I thought this was a cool article on how 30 middle school students were selected for the final round of Broadcom MASTERS science competition. As one of the young kids shows off his investigation into algae's ability to remove carbon dioxide from car exhaust. As the writer of this article and as the reader I totally agree with how she says forget the baking-soda volcano, a new crop of young science fair students are leaving the old-school projects behind. The 30 middle schoolers are headed to Washington DC, to take part in the final stage of the Broadcon MASTERS program. One of the finalists was a 12- yr old from Massachusetts who figured out how to use the ocean's waves to generate electricity. And another was a kid from California who decided to do an intelligent game playing computer against human doctors and professors.
